Detroit Man Charged for Forcing Daughter Into Crime

Andre Stephon-Curtis Broadenax, a 29-year-old Detroit man, has been charged with multiple felonies after allegedly forcing his 11-year-old daughter to help him commit a home invasion and car theft. Prosecutors allege Broadenax drove a stolen vehicle to a 75-year-old man's home on April 29, broke in, and fled on foot, abandoning his daughter when confronted by the homeowner's son. He was arrested soon after and faces charges including first- and second-degree home invasion, larceny in a building, receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle, inducing a minor to commit a felony, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Broadenax was arraigned with an initial $75,000 bond, later raised to $150,000 with house arrest and a GPS tether if released. The incident has shocked the local community, with neighbors expressing disbelief at the involvement of a child. A probable cause hearing is set for May 14, followed by a preliminary examination on May 21.
