USDA Launches Inaugural Great American Farmers Market on National Mall

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, led by Secretary Brooke Rollins and SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler, inaugurated the first Great American Farmers Market on the National Mall to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary and its agricultural heritage. The event featured performances by artists such as Big & Rich, Mary Millben, and the U.S. Navy Band, alongside agricultural displays and activities emphasizing rural America’s vital role. Secretary Rollins highlighted President Trump's leadership in enhancing international market access, lowering taxes, and strengthening the farm safety net, calling him the most pro-farmer president of their lifetime. The market, which includes vendors from over 35 states, focuses on themes like health, faith, forestry, and agricultural education, and is expected to become an annual tradition. Concurrently, American Farmland Trust launched the 17th annual America’s Farmers Market Celebration, promoting top farmers markets nationwide and awarding prizes to recognize their critical role in supporting local food systems and farm communities. These events underscore a national effort to honor and promote American farmers, small businesses, and the agricultural sector's contributions to the economy and culture.
