King Mohammed VI Addresses National Conference on Regionalization

The Second National Forum on Advanced Regionalization, held in Tangier from December 20-21, 2024, saw Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit present a royal message from King Mohammed VI. The King emphasized the urgent need for effective measures to tackle Morocco's pressing challenges, particularly the ongoing water crisis, by strengthening water governance and coordination among stakeholders. He also highlighted the necessity for significant improvements in Morocco’s transportation infrastructure ahead of the 2030 World Cup and stressed the importance of digital transformation in local governance. The King called for accelerated responsibilities transfer to local governments to enhance participatory democracy and empower local economies. He urged collaboration among all sectors to create an investment-friendly environment and effectively implement advanced regionalization. This conference marks a significant step in consolidating regional governance and addressing socio-economic disparities in Morocco.
