Cowgirls Sweep SLC Series Over HCU 7-3, Extend Streak

McNeese softball achieved a decisive series sweep over Houston Christian, winning the final game 7-3 after dominating in a doubleheader on Friday with scores of 12-2 and 11-0. This success brought their overall record to 31-17 and 17-4 in the Southland Conference, extending their winning streak to eight games. The Cowgirls showcased their offensive strength, scoring a total of 23 runs while allowing only 2 across the doubleheader. Delaney Dunham led the team with an impressive .571 batting average, contributing significantly to the run tally with 7 RBIs. The series win marks the eighth time in nine seasons under head coach James Landreneau that the team has reached at least 30 wins. McNeese will next host East Texas Baptist for Senior Weekend, continuing their push towards postseason play.
