Controlled Explosion at Glasgow Bus Station
On November 20, a controlled explosion was conducted at Glasgow's Buchanan Bus Station after police received reports of a potentially suspicious item. The bus station and surrounding areas were evacuated, with large cordons established and the public advised to avoid the area. After the explosion, which involved the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team, nothing suspicious was found, but three men were arrested for possession of offensive weapons. Transport services were disrupted, including the closure of the subway and cancellation of events at the nearby Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Police Scotland is continuing its investigation into the incident, which is not being treated as a terror threat. The area has since begun to return to normal operations.
