Sundance 2027 Finalists Announced, Incentives Detailed

The Sundance Institute has narrowed its search for a new host city for the Sundance Film Festival to three finalists: Boulder, Colorado; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Salt Lake City/Park City, Utah. The selection process began with an initial pool of six cities, including Louisville, Atlanta, and Santa Fe, which were eliminated. Boulder, supported by various state and local partners, including a $1.5 million incentive from the Colorado Economic Development Commission, aims to boost winter tourism and job creation. Utah officials, in collaboration with the Utah Film Commission, are also working on an attractive bid despite rising costs in Park City. Cincinnati's leaders have expressed enthusiasm for the potential economic and cultural benefits the festival could bring. A final decision is expected after the 2025 festival, with the new host city beginning in 2027.
