New housing projects planned in Spartanburg, Molong, Rougham, Philadelphia, Bowie

Spartanburg City Council has approved a $19 million development project that will add over 80 townhome units to a 7.8-acre lot, with 10 percent designated as workforce housing for families earning below $60,150 annually. This initiative aligns with the city's strategy to address housing affordability amid rapid growth, as it was noted to be the 10th fastest-growing metro area in the nation. Similarly, a project in East Molong, Australia, aims to create 635 homes and enhance local infrastructure, receiving unanimous support from the council. In Bury St Edmunds, a planning application has been submitted for up to 160 homes, with 40 percent set as affordable housing. A new 12-story, 190-unit apartment building is in the works in Philadelphia, targeting high-end renters, while the Mill Branch Crossing development in Bowie, Maryland, will feature 190 townhouses and additional retail space.
