Queen Silvia Cancels Singapore Trip Due to Illness

Queen Silvia of Sweden has canceled her participation in an upcoming State Visit to Singapore due to a severe respiratory infection. The 80-year-old monarch was set to travel with her husband, King Carl XVI Gustaf, from November 19 to 21, but opted to remain in Sweden out of consideration for the health of others. The Swedish Royal Court expressed that the Queen regrets missing the trip, which aimed to strengthen relations between Sweden and Singapore, involving a delegation of around 40 members from various sectors. King Carl XVI Gustaf will proceed with the visit alone, accompanied by Swedish ministers. The royal family has requested understanding and support during this time, while updates on the Queen's health will be provided as necessary. This visit marks the Swedish royal family's first official state visit to Singapore.
