Travellers occupy Tesco car park in Wick, West Sussex

A large group of travellers has moved from Rosemead Park to the Tesco supermarket car park in Wick, Littlehampton, occupying several spaces with 19 caravans, vans, and cars. The caravans were first spotted at the park before relocating to the supermarket, where they are currently refusing to leave. Adur District Council confirmed that, as the land is private, it is Tesco's responsibility to take appropriate action regarding the encampment. The store and its car park remain open for regular customers despite the presence of the caravans. Following enforcement action, the park was vacated after Sussex Police issued a notice for the travellers to leave. Littlehampton Town Council has announced plans for temporary security measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
