Nebraska Governor Seeks Federal Aid for Storm Damage

Severe storms and strong winds have caused significant damage in both Victoria, Australia, and Nebraska, USA. In Victoria, over 660 homes were damaged, with more than 6,800 properties without power, prompting a federal disaster funding response to assist affected councils. In Nebraska, Governor Jim Pillen has requested federal aid for the fourth time this year following storms on July 31 that resulted in an estimated $34.6 million in damages and left around 221,000 Omaha Public Power District customers without power.
