Las Vegas Aces Beat Seattle Storm, Extend Win Streak to 17
The No. 2 seed Las Vegas Aces defeated the seventh-seeded Seattle Storm 102-77 in Game 1 of their WNBA first-round playoff series, with A'ja Wilson leading the charge by scoring 29 points. The Aces, who ended the regular season with a 16-game winning streak—a mark tying the 2014 Phoenix Mercury for the second-longest in WNBA history—dominated early with a 17-7 run and never trailed. Jackie Young contributed 18 points along with seven assists and five rebounds, while Jewell Loyd, a former Seattle player traded to Las Vegas, added 14 points. The Aces maintained a strong shooting performance, hitting 51% from the field and 48% from three-point range, and kept their lead above double digits for the remainder of the game. Seattle's Gabby Williams led her team with 16 points, supported by Dominique Malonga's 12 points and 11 rebounds. The series moves to Seattle for Game 2, where Las Vegas can clinch their semifinal spot with a win.
