GM Launches Energy PowerBank for Homes

General Motors (GM) has launched the GM Energy PowerBank, a new energy storage solution designed for electric vehicle (EV) owners, available across all 50 states. The PowerBank, which comes in two capacities (10.6 kWh and 17.7 kWh), allows users to store energy from the grid and integrate with solar power systems, offering backup power during outages and reducing energy costs during peak demand. This move positions GM to compete directly with Tesla in the growing home energy storage market, with the potential to significantly enhance EV adoption by addressing reliability concerns about energy supply. By combining two PowerBanks, consumers can create a system capable of powering an average home for up to 20 hours. GM's initiative not only promotes energy independence and sustainability but also represents a strategic expansion of its energy management offerings following its previous product launches.
