England recalls Bath-bound Henry Arundell for international training camp
Henry Arundell, the 22-year-old winger, has been recalled to the England rugby training squad by head coach Steve Borthwick after signing a contract with Bath for the 2025-26 season, making him eligible for selection again. Arundell initially burst onto the scene with London Irish and scored on his England debut in 2022, but his move to French club Racing 92 following Irish's administration in 2023 made him unavailable due to RFU's policy against overseas players. Despite scoring a record-equalling five tries against Chile in the 2023 Rugby World Cup, his international appearances were limited until now. Arundell played a key role in Racing's final match of the season, scoring two tries after five months out injured, but will now return to the Premiership with Bath and be available for England's summer internationals. England's upcoming fixtures include a match against a France XV at Twickenham on June 21, followed by two Tests in Argentina and a match against the USA. His speed and versatility, including the ability to play full-back, are expected to be valuable assets for a team experimenting with forward-heavy benches.
