Paul Mescal Advised to Slim Down for Beatles Biopic Role

Paul Mescal is set to portray Sir Paul McCartney in an upcoming biopic directed by Sam Mendes, which will consist of four films focusing on each member of The Beatles, slated for release in April 2028. To better fit the character, Mescal has been advised to lose muscle and adopt a less athletic physique, as he currently maintains a ripped body from his recent role in Gladiator II. Sources indicate that McCartney's lean and flexible physique, influenced by his vegetarian diet and yoga practice, contrasts sharply with Mescal's current muscular build. Insiders noted that the Beatles' lifestyle in the 1960s did not include modern gym routines, further emphasizing the need for Mescal to adjust his appearance. Despite the drastic change, Mescal will have the opportunity to indulge in some of McCartney's known habits, such as cannabis use. The casting also includes Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison.
