Silver Spring Man Pleads Guilty to Sextorting 108 Girls Worldwide

Chase William Mulligan, a 28-year-old man from Silver Spring, Maryland, pleaded guilty to two counts of producing child sexual abuse material after coercing over 100 girls aged 5 to 17 into sending him explicit photos and videos through social media platforms such as Snapchat, Discord, Roblox, Skype, Omegle, and Instagram. Mulligan threatened to post the images online or visit the victims' homes if they refused to comply, and in some cases coerced girls into performing sexual acts, including with animals. His victims were located both in the United States and internationally, including countries like Canada, Denmark, Spain, the Philippines, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Law enforcement seized approximately 22 electronic devices with at least 15,000 files of child sexual abuse material, around 1,000 of which were produced by Mulligan. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and up to 60 years in federal prison, with sentencing scheduled for August 27, and must register as a sex offender after release. Authorities emphasized the severity of his manipulation and exploitation, labeling him a depraved predator who used social media to harm vulnerable minors worldwide.
