America's Healthiest Schools Named for 2024

The 2024 America's Healthiest Schools list recognizes 879 schools across 30 states for their efforts in enhancing the health and well-being of students and staff. Notable winners include Wonderful College Prep Academy, which received seven awards, and four Louisiana schools: IDEA Bridge College Prep, IDEA Innovation Academy, IDEA University Prep, and St. Helena College & Career Academy. Schools are evaluated on nine key areas, including social-emotional health, nutrition, and staff well-being, with 66 achieving All-Star status by excelling in all categories. Majorities of awardees are Title I schools, highlighting their commitment to serving diverse student populations. The Alliance for a Healthier Generation emphasizes the importance of these schools as models of resilience amid ongoing challenges related to youth mental health and chronic absenteeism. A summit will be held in October to celebrate and share best practices among the top schools.
