Hull's MKM Stadium to Implement Safe Standing in June 2025

Hull's MKM Stadium, home to Hull City FC and Hull FC, will introduce safe standing areas starting in June 2025 after extensive consultation with the Sports Ground Safety Authority and the stadium's Safety Advisory Group. Nearly 2,700 seats—1,574 in home sections and 1,105 in away sections—will be converted to safe standing zones in specific rows and blocks across the North and East Stands. Work will commence after the final home fixtures in late April and is scheduled for completion ahead of matches in mid-June. The safe standing areas will feature galvanised steel barriers and are designed to improve supporter safety, prevent progressive crowd collapse, and enhance the matchday atmosphere. Fans affected by the conversion can relocate to other available seats at no extra cost, and standing in these areas is optional, not mandatory. This move aligns MKM Stadium with a growing trend among UK sports venues reintroducing modernized standing sections.
