Cisco Joins Stargate UAE Consortium to Build 1GW AI Data Center in Abu Dhabi

Cisco has joined the Stargate UAE consortium as a preferred technology partner, collaborating with major players including G42, OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, and SoftBank Group to build a significant AI data center in Abu Dhabi. The project aims for a full capacity of 1 GW, with an initial 200 MW phase expected by 2026, to accelerate AI infrastructure development in the Middle East. Cisco will contribute advanced networking, security, and observability solutions to support next-generation AI compute clusters, leveraging its expertise and longstanding regional partnerships. Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins emphasized the transformative potential of AI when paired with robust infrastructure to drive innovation and address complex challenges. This initiative aligns with Cisco’s broader strategic efforts in the region following Robbins’ visits to Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE, signaling the company’s commitment to fostering secure, AI-powered digital infrastructure.
