Man Charged With Robbing 94-Year-Old in Philadelphia

Janhyi Boyd, 20, has been charged with robbery, assault, recklessly endangering another person, and evading arrest after allegedly attempting to violently rob a 94-year-old woman, Jennie Pringle, at a Rite Aid pharmacy in Philadelphia on October 18. Boyd reportedly tried to snatch Pringle's purse, dragging her across the floor, and took $42 that fell out of the purse before attempting to flee. He was apprehended shortly after by police, and the stolen money was returned. The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office's Elder Justice Unit, led by Assistant District Attorney Alexander Blumenthal, is prosecuting the case. Boyd is currently being held on $400,000 bail pending his arraignment. The case highlights the efforts of the Elder Justice Unit to protect vulnerable seniors in the community.
