Actor Stuntman Neil Summers Dies Aged 81

Neil Summers, a veteran Hollywood stuntman and actor, has died at 81 at his home in Kanab, Utah, reportedly of natural causes. He was best known for his role as The Rodent in the 1990 film Dick Tracy and as Dougy in the 1987 sci-fi classic RoboCop. Summers had an extensive filmography including appearances in The Shawshank Redemption, My Name Is Nobody, and numerous TV shows such as Gunsmoke and Bonanza. His stunt career spanned decades, during which he worked alongside legends like Elvis Presley, John Wayne, and Clint Eastwood and doubled for actors including Warren Oates and Roddy McDowall. Summers was also an author and collector of Western movie memorabilia, some of which is displayed at the Gene Autry Museum. He is survived by his longtime partner Karen, as well as his sister, niece, and nephew, and is remembered fondly by fans and colleagues for his contributions to film and stunt work.
