Satyendra Jain Released on Bail from Tihar Jail

Satyendar Jain, a senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and former Delhi health minister, was released from Tihar Jail after a city court granted him bail in a money laundering case, citing delays in the trial and his prolonged incarceration. His release prompted celebrations among AAP supporters, with prominent party figures including Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and Manish Sisodia welcoming him. Jain criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), suggesting that his arrest was politically motivated to thwart AAP's initiatives, particularly in cleaning the River Yamuna. The AAP described the court's decision as a victory for truth and a failure of a BJP conspiracy, with Jain vowing to continue his work for the public. Jain had been incarcerated since May 30, 2022, due to charges linked to money laundering through companies associated with him, stemming from a 2017 FIR by the Central Bureau of Investigation. His lawyer confirmed that there were no special conditions attached to his bail.
