Tigres defeats Galaxy 3-2, reaches CONCACAF Champions Cup semifinals
UANL Tigres defeated the LA Galaxy 3-2 in the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinals, securing their spot in the semifinals. The Mexican team quickly took control with goals from Nicolas Ibañez and Uriel Antuna within the first ten minutes. Romulo Zwarg added a third goal for Tigres in the 57th minute, while Joseph Paintsil and Carlos Garces scored for the Galaxy, who were eliminated for the fourth time in five years at this stage. The first leg had ended in a scoreless draw, and Tigres will now face the winner between Club America and Cruz Azul in the semifinals. Tigres has won seven of their last 14 tournament matches, all of which were played in Monterrey. This victory marks the Galaxy's failure to progress beyond the quarterfinals since the 2012-13 tournament.
