The BJP has restructured its leadership in Jammu and Kashmir after significant dissent arose from party members being denied tickets for the upcoming assembly elections. Sat Sharma has been appointed as the working president, while Nirmal Singh takes on the role of campaign committee chairperson. Both leaders were replaced as candidates in their respective constituencies, with Sharma losing his Jammu West seat to Arvind Gupta and Singh's Billawar seat going to Satish Sharma. Additionally, Kavinder Gupta has been named head of the election management committee, despite being replaced in the Bahu constituency by Vikram Randhawa. Other senior leaders, including Sukhnandan Choudhary, also received new roles to quell unrest within the party ranks. The BJP aims to leverage its support in the predominantly Hindu Jammu region to secure a majority in the 90-member assembly.
