Iron Maiden's Nicko McBrain Retires from Touring

Nicko McBrain, the legendary drummer of Iron Maiden, has announced his retirement from touring due to health concerns, specifically following a stroke he suffered earlier this year. His final performance took place on December 7, 2023, in São Paulo, Brazil, marking the end of an iconic 42-year career with the band. McBrain expressed gratitude to fans, family, and bandmates, emphasizing the joy of his journey with Iron Maiden. In response, Black Sabbath's Bill Ward shared a heartfelt message wishing McBrain well and acknowledging the opportunity for him to return for future recordings. Simon Dawson has been announced as the new touring drummer for Iron Maiden's upcoming 2025-2026 'Run For Your Lives' tour. Despite stepping back from live performances, McBrain will continue to be involved with Iron Maiden in various capacities.
