Kulsan Saiyad, a 50-year-old woman from Rajasthali village in Gujarat's Amreli district, has been arrested for the murder of her 14-month-old grandson after she allegedly bit and beat him in a fit of rage. The incident occurred on September 3 when the child began crying, and despite attempts to pacify him, Kulsan lost her temper and inflicted severe injuries, including multiple bite marks and bruises. The child was later taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries, prompting police to initially classify it as an accidental death. However, a postmortem examination revealed the extent of the injuries, leading to the registration of murder charges against Kulsan. Investigating officers noted that she expressed remorse for her actions, claiming that killing her grandson was not her intention. The police are also concerned about the possibility of family members turning hostile during the trial, as they were initially reluctant to file a complaint.
