Deep Depression Brings Heavy Rains Across South Coastal Andhra Pradesh

A deepening low-pressure system over the southwest Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a depression and approach the north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and south coastal Andhra Pradesh regions, bringing heavy to very heavy rainfall through October 27. Authorities including the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) have issued warnings of widespread thunderstorms, squally winds reaching up to 65 kmph, and rough sea conditions, advising fishermen not to venture into the sea. Several districts such as Prakasam, Nellore, Chittoor, Tirupati, and Rayalaseema are expected to experience heavy rains, with isolated places receiving extremely heavy rainfall. Emergency response teams including NDRF and SDRF have been deployed to potentially affected districts to manage relief operations. Residents are urged to stay alert, avoid unnecessary travel, and follow official weather advisories for safety. The situation remains under close monitoring as the weather system moves northwestward across the region.
