Suspect Charged with Murder After Deputy Killed in Victorville Pursuit

Turner, who has a criminal history of fleeing law enforcement and vehicular theft, has been charged with murder, vehicular manslaughter, and other offenses related to the incident. Cuevas was remembered by family and colleagues as a dedicated officer and family man, leaving behind a wife and two children. The Sheriff criticized the early release of Turner from prison just months prior, which he argues contributed to this incident.
