A total of 67 veterans from Central California embarked on the 29th Central Valley Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. to visit memorials honoring their service. The veterans, ranging in age from 67 to 95, received a celebratory send-off at Fresno Yosemite International Airport, with a police escort and a warm welcome from the community. This trip, funded by donations, allows veterans to see their respective memorials, including those for the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Additionally, more than 100 veterans from North Dakota and 98 veterans from Wisconsin are scheduled for their own Honor Flights, showcasing the nationwide effort to honor veterans. The Honor Flight program, which has transported over 295,000 veterans since its inception, relies heavily on community support to operate at no cost to the veterans. These flights serve to recognize and celebrate the sacrifices made by those who served in the armed forces.
