Ezra Mam Receives Nine-Game Ban for Drug Driving

Brisbane Broncos player Ezra Mam has accepted a nine-game suspension imposed by the NRL for drug driving offenses, along with a total of $120,000 in fines. This includes a $30,000 fine from the NRL and an additional $90,000 fine from the Broncos for driving without a license after a head-on collision in October that injured two people. Mam also faces a nine-month license suspension and must complete a safe-driving program, work or study placement, and ongoing wellbeing support. Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy expressed disappointment over the situation but noted that the penalties reflect the gravity of the offenses and aim to deter such behavior. Mam's actions have been met with genuine remorse, and he is reportedly taking steps to improve his life following the incident. His suspension means he will not return until the Broncos' match against South Sydney in round 10 of 2025.
