Cleaner Eyal Yaffe Granted Bail in Murder Case

Eyal Yaffe, a 57-year-old cleaner, has been granted bail after being charged with assisting in the concealment of 19-year-old Isla Bell's remains. Bell was last seen leaving her home on October 4, and police allege Yaffe helped accused murderer Marat Ganiev move a fridge containing her body across several locations before her remains were discovered at a Dandenong tip. CCTV footage reportedly shows a fight in Ganiev's apartment and Yaffe's involvement in cleaning and moving the fridge. Despite prosecutors deeming Yaffe a risk to community safety and a potential flight risk, his lawyer argued there was no proof he knew about the murder. Yaffe is now subject to strict bail conditions, including electronic monitoring and surrendering his passport, while he awaits trial which may not occur until late 2025 or early 2026.
