Neeraj Chopra Aims for 2025 Tokyo Championships

Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, a two-time Olympic medalist, has expressed confidence in achieving full fitness for the 2025 season after dealing with injuries throughout 2024. Following a silver medal win in the Paris Olympics, where he faced an adductor muscle issue and competed with a fractured hand, Chopra is now focused on the upcoming World Championships in Tokyo from September 13 to 21, 2025. He downplayed injury concerns, stating that he will work on improving his technique while considering potential surgery after consulting with doctors. Chopra, trained by German expert Klaus Bartonietz, aims for a podium finish in Tokyo and remains optimistic about his performance. Reflecting on India's Olympic results, he noted the potential for more medals, given several fourth-place finishes. He emphasized the importance of preparation, stating, 'The biggest target for next year is the World Championship.'
