The Harris Marks Reopening with Major Wallace & Gromit Exhibition

The Harris Museum in Preston is reopening with a major exhibition titled 'Wallace & Gromit in A Case at the Museum,' which will run from September 28, 2025, to January 4, 2026. This family-friendly showcase celebrates nearly 50 years of Aardman's animation legacy, featuring iconic characters like Wallace and Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, and Feathers McGraw, and includes original sketches, sets, props, and interactive exhibits that reveal the stop-motion animation process. The exhibition follows the completion of the multi-million-pound Harris Your Place renovation, underscoring the museum's commitment to accessibility and inspiring creativity across all ages. Preston City Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture and Arts, Councillor Hindle, highlighted the exhibition as a perfect way to welcome visitors back, while Nick Park, creator of Wallace & Gromit, reflected on the museum's influence on his early interest in history and filmmaking. Separately, Cardiff Bay’s Techniquest launched a complementary family-friendly Aardman exhibition featuring interactive workshops, clay sculpting, and augmented reality experiences to engage visitors in the creativity behind the animations. Both exhibitions emphasize blending art, animation, and interactive learning to celebrate Aardman's cultural impact and inspire new generations.
