Ruta, categorically denies these accusations, stating they only became aware of the allegations in 2022 when approached for a financial settlement. The complaint details instances of abuse while the girl was unsupervised at the camp and later at the Riveras' home in New York. The Riveras are also accused of fostering a culture that allows such abuse to go unreported. They maintain that they are being falsely targeted despite their long-standing charitable work in the community.
