Woman found dead in car after A1 crash near Peterborough

A woman in her 20s was found dead in her car on the A1 southbound at Wothorpe, near Stamford, after it veered off the road. The discovery was made by a jogger at around 7:20am on Sunday, April 6, and it is believed the crash occurred between the evening of Saturday, April 5, and the early hours of Sunday. Paramedics arrived at the scene but pronounced the woman dead shortly after. The southbound carriageway was closed for approximately six hours while authorities investigated.
