SailGP Launches Global Docuseries Featuring Spithill, Ellison

SailGP is launching its first-ever long-form premium docuseries, 'Uncharted,' featuring three 30-minute episodes that provide an inside look at Jimmy Spithill's journey as Red Bull Italy SailGP Team CEO and former driver. The series highlights the challenges and sacrifices involved in building a competitive team from scratch in just six months, capturing both the high-speed racing and the personal toll on athletes. 'Uncharted' also includes rare interviews with co-founders Larry Ellison and Russell Coutts, showcasing the league's ambitious vision to redefine sailing and attract a new generation of fans. SailGP Chief Content Officer Melissa Lawton emphasized the series' role in breaking down barriers to sailing by revealing the human stories behind the sport's rapid growth and dramatic competition. The docuseries will be globally available through various broadcasters and streaming platforms, including Paramount+ in the U.S. and SailGP’s YouTube channel in regions without broadcast partners. This content initiative follows SailGP's efforts to capitalize on the surge in popularity of sports documentaries, taking inspiration from Formula One's 'Drive to Survive' to expand its fan base.
