Bupa Launches Subscription-Based GP Service

Bupa has introduced a subscription-based GP service designed to address growing dissatisfaction with public healthcare, offering two tiers of access for under £20 per month. The first tier, priced at £16.66 a month, allows same-day remote consultations via phone or video, while the second tier, costing £21.66, includes in-person appointments at one of Bupa's 54 clinics. This initiative follows a survey revealing that 32% of adults prefer a paid GP service over television subscriptions, with a third facing challenges in securing appointments. Subscribers will also benefit from free prescription deliveries and 24/7 access to a nurse-led healthline. Bupa's clinical director emphasized the importance of convenient access to healthcare, especially amid increasing public frustration with GP services. Additionally, Bupa is launching a dental subscription plan, further expanding its healthcare offerings.
