Affleck-Damon Cancel Hulk Hogan Biopic Before Death

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon officially canceled their long-planned Hulk Hogan biopic, with the decision made well before Hogan's death from cardiac arrest at age 71 in July 2025 and unrelated to his passing. Their company, Artists Equity, abandoned the project, which was to dramatize Hogan's legal battle with Gawker Media and was based on Ryan Holiday’s book. Hogan had no involvement in the film and had indicated possible legal action over its portrayal. A separate biopic starring Chris Hemsworth and directed by Todd Phillips was canceled by Netflix in 2024 due to payment issues. WWE and Netflix are continuing with a docuseries on Hogan's life.
