New research from iD Mobile highlights Brighton as the UK's most travel-obsessed city, with residents taking more holidays, visiting more countries, and planning more trips than anywhere else in the country. Reading and Liverpool follow as the second and third most well-travelled cities, while Northampton ranks lowest for travel activity. The study also reveals a significant shift in travel habits, with 79% of Brits saying they would struggle to travel abroad without mobile data, a figure that is even higher in cities like Bristol and London. Mobile data is increasingly essential for navigation, social media, entertainment, and booking activities while abroad. These findings illustrate both the regional differences in travel enthusiasm and the growing dependence on digital connectivity during international trips.
