Newport News Faulty Welds Reported to DOJ, Navy

Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS), a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, has reported to the Department of Justice and Navy that faulty welds, potentially made intentionally, were discovered on non-critical components of submarines and aircraft carriers. The errors were found through internal quality assurance, revealing that some welders knowingly violated procedures.
