Wells Fargo Center Renamed Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia

The Philadelphia arena formerly known as the Wells Fargo Center has been officially renamed the Xfinity Mobile Arena as of September 2, 2025, with a ceremony featuring appearances from Flyers players Sean Couturier, Travis Sanheim, mascot Gritty, Sixers stars Jared McCain and VJ Edgecombe, and mascot Franklin the Dog. This venue, home to the Sixers, Flyers, and Philadelphia Wings, has undergone a $400 million renovation and now boasts a WiFi network upgrade with speeds claimed to be 10 times faster than before, making it the first East Coast arena to feature this high-power WiFi. The naming rights deal runs through the 2030-31 seasons, ending the Wells Fargo Center’s 15-year naming tenure. The Sixers will play their first game at the newly named arena on October 10, starting with a preseason match, followed by the regular season opener on October 25. Comcast emphasized the upgrade's role in enhancing fan experience by enabling instant sharing of moments, reflecting the city's passion for sports and entertainment. Additional events celebrating the renaming will include live radio broadcasts and appearances by former Philadelphia Eagles players.
