BBC Releases First Look at New Thriller The Guest

The BBC is set to release a new four-part psychological thriller titled 'The Guest' in autumn 2025 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Created, written, and executive produced by Matthew Barry, the series explores the toxic and manipulative relationship between Fran, a confident and successful business owner played by Eve Myles, and Ria, her impressionable cleaner portrayed by Gabrielle Creevy. The story delves into themes of class, social mobility, and the widening gap between societal strata, as Ria becomes intoxicated by Fran’s influence, leading to a shocking event that binds their lives through secrets and dangerous plots. Produced by Quay Street Productions, part of ITV Studios, the series also features actors Sion Daniel Young and Emun Elliott, with direction by Ashley Way and production by BAFTA winner Karen Lewis. The show promises an intense, fast-paced narrative centered on a compelling game of cat and mouse that questions who is truly in control. It has received support from the Welsh Government and international distribution will be handled by ITV Studios.
