Citizens Financial Appoints Barclays CFO Aunoy Banerjee Effective October

Citizens Financial Group has appointed Aunoy Banerjee as its new Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President, effective October 24, 2025. Banerjee joins from Barclays Bank PLC, where he served as CFO and led a large global team across various business lines, including U.S. Consumer and Global Corporate and Investment Banking. He replaces John Woods, who will depart in August 2025 to become CFO at State Street, with Chris Emerson serving as interim CFO during the transition. Banerjee brings 25 years of financial services experience, including leadership roles at State Street and Citi, and expertise in finance, transformation, and managing complex financial portfolios. Citizens CEO Bruce Van Saun expressed confidence in Banerjee's ability to drive sustainable growth and support the bank's transformation agenda. This leadership change aligns with Citizens' ongoing strategic efforts to enhance value for stakeholders and manage its $218.3 billion in assets as of mid-2025.
