Doctor Indicted on Rape Charges, Faces Class-Action Suit

Dr. Derrick Todd, a former rheumatologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, has been indicted by a Middlesex County grand jury on two counts of rape. The charges relate to incidents involving two female patients during medical examinations in December 2022 and June 2023 at Charles River Medical Associates in Framingham. Over 200 patients have accused Todd of performing unnecessary and invasive medical exams for personal gratification since 2010. He was fired from his position in July 2023 following internal investigations sparked by anonymous complaints. Todd is also facing numerous civil lawsuits, including a class-action suit brought by his former patients. Investigations into Todd's conduct are ongoing, and he has voluntarily relinquished his medical license in Massachusetts.
