All Three Killed in Pacific Grove Plane Crash
A small twin-engine Beechcraft plane carrying three people crashed into the ocean off Point Pinos near Pacific Grove, California, late Saturday night, shortly after departing from San Carlos Airport for Monterey Regional Airport. The aircraft went down approximately 200-300 yards offshore at around 10:37-10:40 p.m., according to the U.S. Coast Guard and flight tracking data. All three occupants have now been confirmed dead after rescue operations by the Coast Guard, Cal Fire, and local agencies initially recovered two unresponsive individuals and searched for the third. Witnesses heard the plane’s engine revving before a splash, and debris has since washed up on local beaches. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause of the crash. The incident has prompted significant emergency and community response, and local roads remain closed as recovery and investigations continue.
