Man Dies Falling 30ft into Empty Silo at Speke Factory

A 45-year-old man died after falling approximately 30 feet into an empty silo at a factory on Woodland Avenue in Speke, Liverpool. Emergency services, including Merseyside Police, Fire and Rescue Service, and North West Ambulance, responded promptly to the incident which occurred around 7:20pm on September 8. The man was declared dead at the scene, and his next of kin have been informed. Police and the Health and Safety Executive have launched an investigation to determine how the fall occurred. A hazardous response team conducted gas readings inside the building, which were reported to be normal, and a police cordon was established with the road closed during the emergency response.
