Jets to Interview Ron Rivera for Head Coach

The New York Jets have scheduled an interview with former NFL coach Ron Rivera as they seek a new head coach following the firing of Robert Saleh earlier this season. Rivera, who was dismissed by the Washington Commanders after a 4-13 season, has a career coaching record of 102-103-2 and previously led the Carolina Panthers to a Super Bowl appearance. In addition to Rivera, former Jets coach Rex Ryan has expressed his interest in the position and expects to be interviewed as well. Ryan, who coached the Jets from 2009 to 2014, is looking for a chance to revive the franchise after previous unsuccessful attempts to return to coaching. The Jets have also been interviewing candidates for their general manager position as they overhaul their leadership. Rivera’s interview marks the first formal step in the Jets' coaching search this offseason.
