Richard Carapaz Wins Tour de France Stage 17
Ecuador's Richard Carapaz won stage 17 of the Tour de France, completing his set of victories across all Grand Tours. The Olympic champion and former Giro d'Italia winner soloed the final 10km after dropping Simon Yates on the Col du Noyer climb. Carapaz's victory marks his first Tour de France stage win and makes him the first Ecuadorian to achieve this feat. Meanwhile, the overall leaders Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard, and Remco Evenepoel battled in the final stages, with Evenepoel gaining 12 seconds on Pogacar. Eritrean sprinter Biniam Girmay retained the green jersey despite a previous crash. Stage 18 promises scenic challenges from Gap to Barcelonnette.
