Girl lured to beach
A 13-year-old girl in Kelowna, British Columbia was lured to Boyce-Gyro Beach Park by a friend on September 27, only to be brutally beaten unconscious by a group of approximately 30 bullies. The attackers recorded the assault, which included jumping on her and throwing dirt on her while she lay motionless. Her father, Donovan, expressed disbelief at the violence, stating he could not understand what prompted such an attack, especially since most of the assailants were not her schoolmates. The girl suffered a concussion and bruised ribs and is now undergoing therapy for the emotional trauma. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have launched an investigation into the incident, which has drawn significant public attention. Two youths intervened during the attack, calling for help and attempting to stop the violence, while the community grapples with the implications of such bullying fueled by social media behavior.
