Father, 53, named as victim in Worksop house explosion
David Howard, a 53-year-old father, has been identified as the victim of a house explosion in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, which occurred on April 12. Emergency services were called to John Street at approximately 7:39 PM, leading to a major incident declaration. Despite the efforts of responders, Mr. Howard was pronounced dead at the scene, with his daughters receiving support from specially trained officers. Nottinghamshire Police are investigating the cause of the explosion and have urged the community to refrain from speculation during the inquiry. Chief Inspector Clive Collings expressed condolences to the victim's family and thanked the local community for their support. As a precaution, 35 nearby properties were evacuated, though most residents have since returned home.
