AIM Awards Celebrate UK's Independent Music

The 2024 AIM Awards celebrated the UK's independent music scene at Camden's Roundhouse, recognizing artists, labels, and entrepreneurs for their contributions. Neneh Cherry received the Innovator Award for her influential career spanning over four decades, while Sparks were honored for Outstanding Contribution to Music, announcing a new album with Transgressive Records. Jorja Smith won Best Independent Album for 'Falling or Flying,' accepting via video and expressing gratitude to her collaborators and label. Sampha emerged as a standout, winning both Best Independent Track and Best Independent Video for his singles, and also performed at the event. The evening also spotlighted rising talents like Barry Can’t Swim and featured performances from various artists, reinforcing the vibrant spirit of the independent music community.
